CTSecure

Secure & up-to-date from ship to shore

While not every ship is at risk of encountering piracy during their voyage, there is a growing form of piracy which vessels everywhere may encounter. These pirates don’t use entering hooks to get onboard, instead they sneak in through the vessel’s internet connection and hijack your network, your data and your means of navigation.

As cyber security requirements in the maritime industry increase, ship owners are obligated to build cyber security into their systems and vessels, requiring compliance across the full spectrum of critical on-board control and navigation systems.

Introducing CTSecure

In direct response to the market’s need for safe and hassle-free data transmission to critical navigational equipment, Bogerd Martin offers their clients an easy solution: CTSecure!

CTSecure allows vessels to safely retrieve AVCS and AIO data and updates, permits and even routes from CT Insights directly from the Chart Track servers to your ECDIS via the internet, without needing to transfer any files via USB or DVD. To ensure cyber security, CT Secure comes with an integrated firewall. Data is sent securely and immediately when available.

Receive your data, quick & easy!

Each CTSecure is pre-configured by the Bogerd Martin technical team, specifically for a designated vessel before it arrives onboard. The device itself is small and discreet and can easily be mounted with the complimentary DIN rail and mounting brackets.

Connecting 3 cables is all it takes to start receiving your permits and updates directly into your ECDIS!

Cyber Security Regulations

GDPR, the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), implemented in 2018, mandates strict controls over the collection, storage, processing, and sharing of personal data.

IMO Resolution MSC.428(98), implemented in 2021, this requires owners, operators, and managers to consider overall cyber risks, and to implement cyber security across all levels of their management system, in line with International Safety Management (ISM) Code. .

International Association of Classification, Societies’ (IACS) new unified requirements (URs) for cyber security Taking effect from 1 July 2024, this obliges owners, yards and suppliers to build cyber security barriers into their systems and vessels, requiring compliance across the full spectrum of critical on-board control and navigation systems.

EU Directive on Network and Information Systems (NIS2), set to be implemented in October 2024, this obliges EU member states to adopt cyber security strategies and establish competent cyber security structures across their jurisdictions.

Enhanced tracking options

Using the existing NMEA system onboard, tracking information can be sent back from the vessel to shore and consulted by the management through CT Insights.

CTSecure can be set up with an NMEA server or serial connection (breakout box) and comes with a GPS antenna as back-up to the vessel’s own AIS/GPS tracking.

Everywhere and always

Combining CTSecure’s data transmission and tracking abilities with Pay As You Say (PAYS) licensing offers the ideal setup to be secure, up-to-date and compliant, always and everywhere!

CTSecure also integrates and synchronises with other Chart Track products. Data received from CTSecure can be consulted by management via CTInsights. On vessel side you have the option to combine CT Secure with CT Navigator Suite. If both CT Secure and CT Navigator Suite are in the same network, the updates, permits and routes received through CT Secure will be available to both your ECDIS and Navigator Suite, avoiding large chunks of data being sent multiple times.

Keeping all parties secure and up-to-date, from ship to shore!
